AWS, IBM, and Azure Top-Ranked In Big Data Study A study that evaluated the user satisfaction of Big Data vendors found that Amazon Web Services (AWS) received the highest scores. Next came IBM and Microsoft Azure. Info-Tech Research Group subsidiary SoftwareReviews compiled the study in February. It rated seven Big Data software vendors in four categories: vendor capabilities and product features, likelihood to recommend, and “net emotional footprint”, which assesses each vendor’s fairness and trustworthiness based on user perceptions. These four scores were then combined to create a “composite Score” for each vendor. AWS’ Big Data portfolio was the best-performing vendor, scoring 8.1 out 10 in a composite score. AWS was followed by IBM InfoSphere, Azure, and both received 8 out of 10. SoftwareReviews placed AWS in the “Leader” quadrant of its study.
